Flora Duffy has just crossed the line in Maui to become Bermuda’s first ever professional triathlon world champion as she is crowned the 2014 Xterra World Champion with a dominant display.
Flora finished in around 2 hrs 48 mins 10 secs, around 9 minutes quicker than last year’s winning time as she led from start to finish. Chile’s Barbara Riveros, who finished 4th last year, was 2nd about 2 minutes behing Flora.
Dan Hugo, Flora’s training partner from South Africa, was 4th male. Defending champion, Spain’s Reuben Rufaza was crowned the mens champion. WAY TO GO FLORA.
Kent Richardson and Julia Hawley are still out there..
