Flora Duffy makes a welcome return to triathlon tomorrow, Saturday 11th July 2015, in Toronto, Canada at the Pan Am Games Triathlon.
Flora made a fantastic start to the season including continuing her unbeaten run in XTerra races and a podium finish at the opening ITU World Series race.
All seemed to be going well with a world series ranking of 10 but a leg injury put a spanner in the works for Flora and she was unable to run for a number of weeks. Infact she was only cleared to run on June 6th so has only had four weeks of running, including only limited running to start with, in preparation for these championships.
With a strong field lined up, including Canada;s Paula Findlay and the USA’s Sarah Haskins, Flora will have her work cut out to finish on the podium and will have to hope that she can make a break with a small group on the bike to give her a cushion going into the run. Haskins is a strong cyclist and if Flora can get away with Haskins then they could open up a lead. One thing is for sure, Flora will be giving it a go at the front as she has done all season. Last year she missed out on a medal by just 9 seconds as she finished 4th so she will be hoping to go at least one better this time around.
Racing gets underway at 9.30 AM Bermuda time. For more information and results go to :
