Tyler Smith produced one of the strongest Bermuda performances of the season finishing 10th today at the European Triathlon Union’s Junior Elite Series race in Chateauroux, France against some of Europe’s and other nations top junior triathletes. There were 47 starters and Tyler was just 34 seconds of a podium finish.
What was especially impressive is that he still has two more years to race in this age group and his result will give him some confidence as he heads for Magog, Quebec, Canada to compete in next weekend’s Canadian Junior Elite Championships.
Tyler completed the 750 meter swim, 20km bike and 5km run in 58 min 49 secs and was just 5 secs out of 7th place.
