They may not have gone to the dizzy heights of Flora Duffy, but Neil de ste Croix and Laurie Orchard produced excellent results today at the XTerra World Championships 2015 .
Neil completed the tough offroad 1500m swim, 30km bike and 10km run in 3 hrs 40 mins 40 secs to take 14th place in the 50-54 age group with splits of 27 mins 17 secs, 2hrs 8 mins 2 secs and 61 mins 21 secs.
Laurie was 5th out of the water in her age group in 27 mins 20 secs and then produced a bike of 2 hrs 40 ins and 41 secs and run of 68 mins 04 secs to finish 20th in her 40-44 age group.
Flora Duffy exited the water in the top 5 overall with close to a six minute lead over mountain bike specialist Lesley Paterson and although Lesley closed it down to 1 min 37 secs going into the run, it was Flora who ran the toughest finishing over 4 minutes ahead of Paterson to retain her XTerra world title.
