Greg Welch conducted a camp for 16 triathletes during his visit to Bermuda in November and the camp proved to be a huge success.
Welch, the only triathlete to ever win every triathlon world championship distance and the world duathlon championships, passed on a wealth of knowledge to participants and his enthusiasm for the sport of triathlon was infectious. He also put the camp triathletes through their paces in the pool, on the sand dunes, on the track, in the ocean and in some tough race style short bike time trial sessions and wind trainer/ run intervals at the track. The event culminated in a catered dinner at Aaron and Karen Smith’s place with the last participants leaving in the early hours of the morning. Aaron produced an awesome video of the camp.
A big thank you to the Smiths for hosting Greg and his family so well in their apartment and home and to Sue Edney for the awesome lunch, Neil Lupsic ( booze organiser and transport- ), Julia Hawley ( transport), Kandis Matthews ( treasurer and transport), Aaron Smith ( photos and videos), Sharon Hammond ( surf board and transport), Jen Wilson ( helping to organise caterers and transportation) and the Butterfields for hosting Greg and family on US ThanksGiving. If I left anyone out then my apologies.
