ERICA HAWLEY GETS SEASON OFF TO A GOOD START

After a very promising first season competing as an elite junior in 2015, Erica Hawley has been visiting leading “triathlon” colleges in the USA including University College San Diego where her visit coincided with a draft legal  race put on by the college which included professional triathletes and leading college triathletes.

Erica did exceptionally well in a field that included Olympic bronze medallist Erin Densham of Australia who finished 4th.

Erica was 16th overall out of 54 finishers in 1 hr 5 min 31 secs  with only two college students finishing ahead of her over the sprint distance Tritonman. Erica also broke 20 minutes for the first time on the run over this distance, completing the run in 19 min 49 secs.

The race as won by Summer Cook in 1 hr 30 secs.
