13 year old Nick Pilgrim produced an outstanding performance today in Clermont, Florida competing in the FI Series for juniors aged 12-16.
Nick finished 13th over the 375m swim, 10km draft legal bike and 2.5 km run but was the 2nd 12-13 year old overall. The top 6 spots were taken by 15-16 year olds.
The F1 Series attracts many of the USA and Canadian leading “youth” level (12 to 16) triathletes. Canada’s Antoniades Pavlos from Quebec, the 2015 winner, again took 1st place in 30 min 12 secs. Nick’s time was 33:12. Last year the time difference between Nick and Pavlos was over 6 minutes and Nick finished 39th so his improvement in 2016 is very encouraging especially as he has three more years in the F1 Series and the “youth” category.
