A contingent of Bermudian triathletes will be racing this Sunday 23rd October at the Miami Ironman 70.3. The group is much smaller than last year’s contingent.
Ashley Estwanik finished a very impressive 2nd in May of this year ( just a few seconds out of 1st place) in the Female 35-39 Age Group at the North American 70.3 Championships and followed that result up with an excellent 13th place finish in September at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Australia. Ashley will certainly be in contention for a podium finish and could well top the podium.

Also on the start line will be Kevin Tucker racing in the 45-49 age group. In the 1990’s Kevin was one if the island’s leading runners and cyclists and after learning to swim became a very strong age group triathlete with a PB of close to 2 hours flat for Olympic distance racing. He is no stranger to racing abroad having represented Bermuda at the ITU World Championships.
Dennis Fagundo will also start in the 40-44 age group. A strong cyclist and regular top ten finisher in local events Dennis raced for Bermuda at the age group world championships in London in 2013.
Relative newcomer Mathew Viney who has been active on the local scene is the final member of the group.
