Tyler Smith produced a solid performance on November 20th finishing 17th in the British Universities and Colleges National Duathlon Championships in his first race since enrolling at Leeds University in the UK.
The race took place at the famous Castle Coombe motor racing circuit and included a team and individual event over a fast course.
Tyler recorded the 12th fastest time for the first run but lost time on the bike with the 45th fastest bike time but made it up on the 2nd run with the 12th fastest run time again to finish in 44 minutes 35 secs with Loughborough University’s Richard Horton first in 41 min 40 secs. Loughborough had 4 athletes in the top ten to take the team title whilst Tyler’s Ledds University team were 3rd overall as his team mates finished 5th and 8th.
Tyler was just 21 seconds out of a top ten finish.
