A group of Bermuda triathletes competed today, Sunday 11th June, at the Eagleman 70.3 Ironman Triathlon in Cambridge, Maryland.
Karl Wilson led the way in the 40-44 age group as h finished a creditable 20th in the age group and 133 overall with splits of 29;41, 2:31:15 and 1:46:57 for a total time of 4:55:51
Erik Soria competing in the 35-39 age group was next across the line if 5 hrs 7 mins and 23 secs (29th in his age group and 209 overall) with splits of 26:58 (the 2nd fastest swim time in his age group), 2: 37:38 and 1:53:43.
Steve Smith was 50th in the 40-44 age group in 5:27:01 with splits of 35:33, 2:38::28 and 2:04:39.
David Soutter (40-44 age group) was 68th in his age group in 5:41:54 with splits of 40:21, 2:44:36 and 2:08:17.
Clive Langley was 80th in the 40-44 age group in 5:48:28 with splits of 33:50, 2:39:06 and 2:24:49
Raphael Simons was 110th in the 45-49 age group in 6:45:54 with splits of 42:38, 3:05:42. His run split is unknown.
Nuri Lathan completed the swim in 30 minutes but DNF’d although the reason for his DNF is not known.
