TYLER SMITH 25TH IN HOLTEN EUROPEAN JUNIOR ELITE TRIATHLON

Tyler Smith continued his preparation for the CAMTRI Junior American Championships on 15th July with a solid performance yesterday ( 1st July) at the European Junior Elite Triathlon Series race in Holten, Netherlands.

Tyler completed the 750 meter swim in 8 min 27 secs which put him in touch with the leaders but the slowest first transition saw him having to work to join the lead pack of riders. Although he caught onto the lead group with a 29:21 for the 21km bike the effort cost him in the 5km run as he lost touch with the leaders finishing with a run time of 18:23 for an overall time of 58:46, 25th out of 68 starters.

The race was won by Callum McClusky of Australia in 57:09 with easily the fastest run split of 16:30.
