Following her last race at the ITU World Series in Montreal, Flora indicated that she was uncertain whether she would race in the World Series race in Stockholm this weekend, before the Grand Final in Rotterdam in early September. Flora will however be racing in Stockholm.
Flora, the defending series champion, currently leads the series with 7174 points with Ashleigh Gentle of Australia in second on 5435 points and Katie Zaferes of the USA in 3rd on 5298 points. Gentle finished 1st in Montreal o close the gap on Flora and Flora will therefore be looking to ensure that she either wins or finishes on the podium to keep a cushion over her nearest rivals going into the Grand Final where the points are 1 1/2 the points awarded at other World Series events.
Th Stockholm course ( 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run) with its technical bike course through the narrow city streets, is one of Flora’s favorites and she will again be hoping to distance her main rivals on the bike before the 10km run.
The race gets underway this Saturday 26th August at 12.06 Stockholm time and more details can be found at http://www.triathlon.org under the “Events” tab.
