New Orleans Ironman 70.3 competitors were spared from these conditions as the event was cancelled

There was real disappointment for Ashley Cooper and Phil Mace as a severe weather forecast resulted in the cancellation of the Ironman 70.3 New Orleans on Sunday ( 22nd October).

With 60mph winds, hail and electrical storms forecast the organisers had no choice but to cancel the race.

The New Orleans race has had its fair share of weather problems including being turned into a duathlon in both 2011 and 2012 but had gone ahead as planned from 2013-2016.
