“National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Programme”
The BTA is inviting expressions of interest from eligible junior triathletes who would like to be considered for nomination by the BTA for the National Junior Athlete Sponsorship Award.
The Award is provided by Government to one Junior athlete nominated by each Sport National Governing body to recognize and provide financial assistance to a junior athlete who clearly demonstrates commitment, performance and potential to become an elite athlete.
To be eligible, the nominee must be under the age of 18 (as at 31 December 2018) and must be a registered Bermudian (a certified true copy of the athlete’s passport and other evidence will be required when we submit the application to Youth and Sport). The Department of Youth and Sports has changed the eligibility criteria from the prior two years and have confirmed that junior athletes who are “deemed Bermudian” are no longer eligible for the awards.
If you would like your eligible junior triathlete to be considered for nomination for the Award by the BTA, please e-mail Ian Pilgrim at firstname.lastname@example.org confirming the name of your triathlete no later than 12 February, 2018. Once we have received expressions of interest, the BTA will contact each interested person for the detailed information and documents which will be required in order to complete the application.”
