RACE DETAILS

XL Catlin National Olympic (Standard) Distance Triathlon Championships
 Distances: 1.5 km swim / 40 km bike / 10 km run
 Age Groups: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
 Teams: Men, Women & Mixed Team (an individual participant can also swim for a team)

 Swim Course: The Olympic swim course will consist of 2 laps of a 750 meter triangle swim course.
 Bike Course: The course will consists of 8 out and back 5 km laps. Starting from transition, left past the fire station, up the hill toward Carter House and turning at the traffic circle.
 Run Course: Runners will exit transition, bearing right into Cooper Island Nature Reserve, following the marked course to the turn-around. Runners will then keep right exiting Cooper’s Island by Turtle Bay and following the road back to the turnaround near transition. 4 Laps

XL Catlin Sprint Triathlon :
 Age Groups: 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+
 Distances: 750m swim / 20 km bike / 5 km run
 Teams: Men, Women & Mixed Team (an individual participant can also swim for a team)

 Swim Course: The Sprint swim course will consist of 1 lap respectively of a 750 meter triangle swim course.
 Bike Course: The bike course will consists of 4 out and back 5 km laps. Starting from transition, left past the fire station, up the hill toward Carter House and turning at the traffic circle.
 Run Course: Runners will exit transition and follow the road toward the Cooper Island Reserve. Runners will exit transition, bearing right into Cooper Island Nature Reserve, following the marked course to the turn-around. Runners will then keep right exiting Cooper’s Island by Turtle Bay and following the road back to the turnaround near transition. 2 Laps

XL Catlin Junior Triathlons
 (age 7-10) swim 100m / bike 5 km / run 1 km
 (age 11-15) swim 200m / bike 10 km / run 2 km
 (age 13-15) swim 375m / bike 10 km / run 2.5 km

 Swim Course:
o 7-11 swim course will be parallel to the beach
o 11-15 swim course will be parallel to the beach
o 13-15 swim course will be parallel to the beach – starting at Turtle bay

 Bike Course:
o 7-11 5km – One lap to the round-a-bout just past Carter House /
o 11-15 10km – Two laps to the round-a-bout just past Carter House
o 13-15 10km – Two laps to the round-a-bout just past Carter House

 Run Course
o 7-11 1km – Runners will exit transition and head toward Coopers Island. There will be a turnaround point at Turtle bay Beach. 1 Lap
o 11-15 2km – 2 Laps as detailed above
o 13-15 2km – 2 Laps as detailed above / or 1 lap of the adult run course (TBC)
Age Group note: An athlete’s age group on race day is based on the athlete’s age on the 31st of December 2018, not on the race day.

Entry Fees
• Junior Race – $25.00
• Team – $60.00 ***
• Olympic Individual – $40.00 ***

***Event Pricing includes the $10 one Day BTA membership Fee. If you are a member of the BTA Membership discount will apply at Checkout. (Not applicable to juniors)

** Number Pickup will be Race morning at the event**
Late Registration will be available at number Pickup.

Post race refreshments and awards
Junior Event
Refreshments and snacks after the junior race. Junior awards to be presented following the conclusion of their race and during the Olympic and Sprint Events.

BBQ following Olympic Distance race
This year we will once again be hosting a catered BBQ following the conclusion of the Olympic race. The Olympic award presentation is planned for 11:30am. We invite all athletes to relax and enjoy lunch after the event and cheer on any and all other finishers!

Other Important Event Details

  •  Wetsuits will NOT be allowed unless the water temp is 72oF or below. It is anticipated that wetsuits will NOT be allowed based on historical water temp for June.
  • Transition closes promptly 15 minutes prior to race start
  • Race Briefing: prior to the start of each race
  • Swim cap required (and will be supplied at number pickup)
  • Helmets are mandatory,
  • No bare torso on bike or run
  • No drafting on bike
  • Refer to race rules and instructions downloadable fro http://www.bermudatriathlon.com

You must have a bike in good working order and an approved helmet that fits and clips in.
