This from Steve Petty and Tim Goodyer :
Early start today because Flora had a 9am race briefing.
Jon, Tucker and Tyler needed to get their bikes checked and had to tape up the majority of the sponsor logos. Everyone’s wetsuit was also checked and we had black spray paint to cover logos again as did everyone else, including the Brownlees. Finally trisuits were checked and any stray logos taped up.
Whilst Flora was at her briefing, Tyler and Jon went for a swim on the course. The course was open for 45 minutes to allow them to do this. All four triathletes then took their bikes out on the course and all reports indicated a fast course with one long hill and two or three tight turns.
Tucker wanted to do one loop of the run course, so after the men’s briefing he headed out and reported back on a rolling course!
The afternoon was spent doing some admin such as family tickets and also a few of the braver members of the party headed to the ice baths!
The village is filling up fast and provides a great atmosphere in the build up with people of all shapes and sizes with the rugby players and volleyball players towering over everyone!
Join the 40 + others tonight at Clearwater Beach at 6.30PM for another fun Argo Re super sprint event.
Race or just participate in a 200m swim ( in water you can stand in), 8km bike, 2km run or the shorter 100m swim, 5.6km bike and 1km run.
Encourage friends, family and work colleagues to come and watch and then take part the following week.
