Tucker Murphy got in some speed training in preparation for Sunday’s Tokio Millennium Triathlon by posting a very fast time at last night’s (5th June) Argo Re Sprint Series race to cross the line first. Visitor Megan Kelly was the first female finisher whilst junior Nick Pilgrim was 2nd overall. A good field turned out for yesterday’s event. DAVE MIRFIELD – The former Assistant Commissioner of Bermuda Police did the January 2014 triathlon camp before returning to the UK. He did his first sprint triathlon on Sunday at Stratford Upon Avon. See link below to results. Dave finished 337 out of 395 male finishers.
MEANWHILE, 20 year old Exeter University student Megan Berry competed in Sunday’s Aquathlon (600m pool swim / 5km run) at Exeter University, part of a series of Aquathlons. It was Berry’s 2nd race in the series and she finished 14th woman out of 40 finishers.
Javier Gomez won his 2nd Triathlon World Series Event today. With Alistair Brownlee pulling out on Wednesday brother Jonathan was left to battle it out with Gomez.
Jodie Simpson and Helen Jenkins take 1 and 2 at the Cape Town race with the USA in 3rd and 4th.
Not to be outdone by Flora, Dan Hugo, her boyfriend, won the men’s race.
